These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between Legal Merits Limited, a company registered in England and Wales ("Legal Merits", "we", "our", "us"), and any individual or organisation ("you", "User") who accesses or uses the Bundle-B | Court Bundling Software platform at https://bundle-b.com (the "Platform").
By registering an account or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
Legal Merits is a technology company. We provide software tooling to assist legal professionals with the preparation and formatting of court bundles.
We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or any regulated legal service. Nothing on the Platform constitutes legal advice. You remain solely responsible for the legal accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of any documents or bundles you create using the Platform.
You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must notify us immediately at info@legalmerits.com if you become aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.
Access to the Platform requires a paid subscription. Subscription fees, billing cycles, and included features are as stated on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
Current monthly plan allowances are: Starter 62 GB, Team 123 GB, and Enterprise 403 GB per firm, per month. These allowances are usage caps and are not limited only to files stored at rest.
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Legal Merits does not store payment card data. Your payment information is governed by Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.
The Platform relies exclusively on cloud infrastructure provided by Google LLC through its Firebase and Google Cloud Platform services for data storage, authentication, file storage, and serverless compute functions.
Legal Merits does not operate its own servers or data centres. All user data — including uploaded documents, account records, and bundle metadata — is stored and processed on Google-operated infrastructure.
By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree that:
— Your data is stored and processed by Google LLC subject to Google's own Terms of Service, available at https://policies.google.com/terms.
— The security, availability, and integrity of data at rest and in transit on Google's infrastructure is Google LLC's responsibility under its own contractual and regulatory obligations.
— In the event of any data breach, data loss, data corruption, service outage, or other security incident arising from or attributable to the infrastructure operated by Google LLC (including Firebase), Legal Merits Limited shall bear no liability beyond what is mandated by applicable law.
— Legal Merits makes no warranty regarding the security of Google-operated systems and cannot guarantee that such systems will be free from unauthorised access, cyberattack, or other security incidents.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
a) Legal Merits is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, loss of business, or reputational harm.
b) Legal Merits is not liable for any service interruptions, data losses, or security incidents arising from failures or vulnerabilities in third-party infrastructure, including but not limited to Google Firebase, Google Cloud Platform, and Stripe.
c) Legal Merits' total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the 12-month period immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
d) Legal Merits is not liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, virus, or other technologically harmful material that may infect your device, computer programs, data, or other proprietary material due to your use of the Platform or to your downloading of any content on it.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, or our fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
Legal Merits will implement and maintain reasonable technical and organisational security measures in respect of systems and processes under our direct control.
In the event of a data breach that originates from or is attributable to the infrastructure operated by Google LLC (Firebase / Google Cloud Platform), responsibility for that breach rests with Google LLC as the data processor and infrastructure operator. Legal Merits' liability in such circumstances is limited to the obligations imposed on us as a data controller under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Legal Merits will notify you of a data breach affecting your personal data as required by applicable law, and will cooperate with any regulatory investigation arising from such an incident.
You agree not to use the Platform to:
— Upload, store, or process any material that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or infringes any third-party rights.
— Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its underlying infrastructure.
— Use the Platform in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any server or network connected to it.
— Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform.
Legal Merits reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy without notice or refund.
Legal Merits acts as a data processor in respect of any personal data uploaded to or processed through the Platform. The User (law firm or organisation) acts as the data controller.
9.1 Scope and Purpose Legal Merits shall process personal data only for the purpose of providing the Platform services, including document storage, processing, and court bundle generation, and strictly in accordance with the User's instructions as set out in these Terms. The personal data processed by Legal Merits is limited to basic account information, including firm name, user name, and email address. Documents uploaded to the Platform may contain personal data; however, such documents are processed solely on behalf of the User for bundling purposes and are not accessed, analysed, or used for any other purpose.
9.2 Data Ownership All data uploaded to the Platform remains the property of the User. Legal Merits does not use such data for any purpose other than delivering the service.
9.3 Security Measures Legal Merits implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), controlled access, and secure cloud infrastructure.
9.4 Sub-processors The User authorises Legal Merits to engage sub-processors for the provision of the service. This includes Google Cloud (Firebase), which provides hosting, storage, and processing infrastructure. All sub-processors are engaged under appropriate data protection obligations.
9.5 Confidentiality Legal Merits ensures that any personnel authorised to process personal data are subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
9.6 Data Subject Rights Legal Merits will, to the extent reasonably possible, assist the User in fulfilling its obligations to respond to data subject requests under applicable data protection laws.
9.7 Data Breach Notification Legal Merits will notify the User without undue delay upon becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting the User's data and will provide reasonable cooperation.
9.8 Data Retention and Deletion Upon termination of the service, personal data will be deleted in accordance with the Platform's data retention policies, unless retention is required by law.
All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including its software, design, and documentation, are owned by or licensed to Legal Merits Limited.
You retain all intellectual property rights in the documents and content you upload to the Platform. By uploading content, you grant Legal Merits a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store that content solely for the purpose of delivering the service to you.
You may cancel your subscription and close your account at any time by contacting us at info@legalmerits.com.
Legal Merits may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably suspect fraudulent or abusive use, or if we are required to do so by law.
Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The current version of these Terms is always available at https://bundle-b.com/terms-of-service.
